We welcomed some brilliant special guests to Rutland this year. Presenter on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Virgin Radio Vassos Alexander. A seasoned runner with a sub-3hr marathon PB, he has also completed some of the longest and most gruelling races on earth. Vassos brought along his son Matthew who is also a keen runner and certainly added some healthy family competition to the training sessions!
Also joining us for the weekend and providing some delicious run fuel, was 2013 Great British Bake Off Winner Frances Quinn. And if that wasn’t enough, we also had a special visit from GB 1500m runner and European and Commonwealth medallist, Laura Weightman.
Our industry professionals included camp regulars Paul Hobrough owner of local physiotherapy clinic Physio & Therapy, and Louise Sutton, lecture in Sport and Exercise nutrition at Leeds Beckett Uni. We also welcomed Professor Steve Peters author of the Chimp Paradox who gave an enthraling Friday evening insight into the runners mind.
Thank you to all of our guests and campers, we hope to see you again next year!
